My old buddy from Columbia, TN, Clyde Hartman, a wonderful fiddler and former Tennessee state champion, introduced me to this and all the rest of the classic Howdy Forrester material when I was ten, and then I heard it here and there at contests over the years.  Howdy was a straight-up genius and one of the most significant fiddlers of all time.
